   Both watch and its new strap are working well and the new strap has returned the watch to be a reliable timepiece.

   • Having learned about the watch from all the numbers and replaced the battery I wanted to replace the strap with a genuine Longines leather strap of the same size and design.
   • After a lot of searching I found this particular Longines Elegances black leather strap that was closest to the original.
   • I purchased the strap and was able to replace the original myself, including cleaning and straightening the strap supports.

   • Although this watch now is serviceable and keeps accurate time for my wife, setting the date function appears not to be working. Not sure why.
